Civil Service Induction for Senior Entrants

Aimed at senior staff (at around grade 7 level), in Departments, Agencies, and other public bodies who have recently joined the Civil Service. The workshop aims to quickly familiarise new staff with the workings of government and the distinctive features of working in the Civil Service.
N.B. This course can also be tailor-made for any Government Department or Agency to meet their specific requirements
Learning Objectives
- Understand the context within which Civil Servants have to work
- Understand the key roles of a Civil Servant
- Understand the relationship between the Civil service, Executive Agencies and the wider Public Sector
- Understand the role of the Cabinet and Departmental Ministers
- Learn about the work of Parliament and how it interacts with the Civil Service
- Understand how policy is designed, developed and delivered
