Provides an understanding of the implications post election day. Examines the possible constraints on departmental spending and the changing economic situation. Explores the potential role of Spending Reviews including coping with imposed spending freezes, cuts and efficiency initiatives whilst securing funds. Understanding how allocation of resources could be skewed by other political factors in a Hung Parliament.

An examination of the need to consider financial rules and requirements, how to approach difficult choices in justifying spending and investment. The purpose of performance measurements as a control tool and how to ensure the effective use of resources.
