Clearing Drafts Prepared By Others

This is a practical workshop for people who have to clear submissions and other drafts prepared by others. Focussing on ensuring effective content it will also cover the principles behind effective editing and proofreading and providing feedback to the drafter.
Learning Objectives
- Learn the key components of an effective submission and of other documents which require action by the reader
- Learn the skills of keeping drafts short and to the point
- Spot and correct common spelling, grammar and punctuation errors
- Learn how to read thoroughly and accurately
- Develop the skills to edit for style, content and layout
- Become more confident about what you should change and how to do it
- Learn skills in providing feedback to the drafter
