Dr Stephen Ladyman MP

Dr. Stephen Ladyman is the United Kingdom Member of Parliament for South Thanet and is currently Vice Chair of the UK Labour Party, with special responsibility for campaigning in the South East of England.

Dr.Ladyman began his career as a radiation biologist before moving into the field of information technology. He worked for the Medical Research Council (1979-85), the Kennedy Institute for Rheumatology (1985-1990) and Pfizer (1990-1997).

In 1997 he was elected as the Member of Parliament for South Thanet, in 2001 he joined the Government as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Minister for the Armed Forces and became a Minister in 2003 when he was made Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Health, Minister for Community. In 2005 he was appointed as Minister of State for Transport, a post he held until 2007 when he became a Vice Chair of the Labour Party.
