Annette Brooke MP
Prior to her election to Parliament, Annette was a Councillor in Poole Borough Council from 1986-2003:. She was Chair of Planning from 1991-96, Education from 1996-2000, and was Sheriff in 1996-97, and Mayor from 1997-98.
Annette became the Member of Parliament for Mid Dorset and Poole North on the 7th June 2001 general election. In the House of Commons, she has been a Liberal Democrat Whip, Spokesperson for Home Affairs, Children, and Shadow Minister for: Education, Families, Young People, and Schools.
She has also been a Member of Select Committees on Public Administration, Procedure, Public Accounts, and Children, Schools and Families.
Annette is also very actively involved in All Party Parliamentary Groups, including being Vice-chair of the Endometriosis Group, Chair of the Microcredit/Microfinance Group, Vice-chair of the Children Group, and the Parents and Families Group, and Chair of the Breast Cancer Group, Voice UK Group, Adoption and Fostering Group, and Treasurer of the Tuberculosis (TB) and Death Penalty Groups.
