Steve Pound MP
Steve was elected as MP for Ealing North in 1997.
Before entering the Commons he was Area Housing Manager of Paddington Churches Housing Association He has had a varied career including working as a seaman, bus conductor and hospital porter. As a mature student, he went to the London School of Economics and obtained a BSc (Econ) and spent a year as Student Union President.
From 1982 to 1998 he was a Councillor at the London Borough of Ealing. He was also the Mayor of Ealing from 1995-96
He writes a monthly column for the Ealing Times and used to write regular columns for the Ealing Gazette and Asian Voice. Steve has made numerous appearances on TV and radio, including "Have I Got News for You".
He presented LBC's "London Matters" on Sunday mornings for six months and he was nominated in 2000 as Parliamentarian of the Year, in the Channel 4 Parliamentary Awards.
